As a local bookstore sought to expand its off erings, Gardner was brought on board through existing relationships as a trusted partner. Our scope expanded over the years to include a market, a second bookstore location, and a renovation of the original space. The Commonplace brand is rooted in relationships, connecting people through books, coff ee conversations, or shopping. Its signature green hues paired with light wood tones allow the books and merchandise to shine in an approachable layout.
Communal seating encourages patrons to mingle and explore what each Commonplace entity off ers. Gardner’s design approach uses simple materials thoughtfully, like custom color epoxy fl ooring or sealed concrete paired with warm plywood for high-impact, cost-conscious solutions.
